Reforestation projects through mechanisms A / R CDM in the Bromo Tengger National Park, carried out as a form of implementation of a policy priority, namely the Ministry of Forestry, rehabilitation and conservation of natural resources. In addition, the project conducted in cooperation between the Indonesian government and the Japanese, is also a manifestation of the basic principles of the implementation of the Convention on Climate Change the World, the Common but Differentiated Responsibilities (with responsibilities in a different portion). Japan as one of the developed countries have the primary responsibility in countering global warming and climate change the world, while Indonesia as a developing country took the responsibility to help countries overcome the problems in the international. The project is expected to become a pilot reforestation project on the conservation area is to provide benefits for both parties (mutual benefit). The Japanese Government will get international recognition because it has implemented some responsibilities in addressing global warming and climate change. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Government, will provide benefits in addition to functioning as the return of forest have been terdegradasi as a buffer system of life and as a natural resource for improving the welfare of the community, will also become the world's international record that the government and the nation has made efforts in tackling the problems and global climate change. |

Indonesia and Japan (Sumitomo Forestry Co.Ltd), in cooperation conduct reforestation activities (reforestation) through the mechanism A / R CDM in the area of Bromo Tengger National Park. Cooperation has been in the form of the MoU, which states that the Sumitomo will provide all funding for the project, while the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry, which provide land and funding for the project in kind. As a follow-up of the MoU, on 12 November 2008 will be done through the launch of the project activities in a symbolic planting, which will be attended by Mr. Hideki Nose, Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer of Sumitomo Forestry Co.. Ltd., Minister of Forestry, Head of Research & Development Forestry Agency, SAM Field Partnership, the Governor of East Java, and the Regent around TN Bromo Tengger.
